The Opportunity
Join our innovative team at Hitachi Energy as an R&D Structural and Acoustic Engineer.
As a new RD Structural and Acoustic Engineer, you will join our Global Multi-Physic Simulation (GLOMUS) network team in the Technology Center of HITACHI-Energy. You will be part of a group with specific expertise in mechanical design and support innovative and challenging projects.
As part of our global R&D community, including Technology Centers and Research Centers worldwide, you will contribute to supporting factories in the PG Dry, Traction, and Distribution Transformers with your design skills.
How You’ll Make an Impact

Perform finite element simulations on structures subjected to various static and dynamic loads (e.g., fatigue, impulsive, short-circuit, seismic)

Collaborate with engineers to develop and optimize new and existing products

Create new automations for structural, thermomechanical, and acoustic assessments

Conduct feasibility studies, develop technical concepts, design new products, and simulate their performance

Engage in prototyping and testing activities to validate new technologies and products

Contribute to product and technology development projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery

Facilitate the transfer of technology and knowledge to the engineering department through design rules, training, and collaboration with the design tools team

Your Background
-
PhD or MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience

Expertise in structures subjected to loads such as seismic, fatigue, shock, and thermal
-
Proficiency in finite element analysis for vibroacoustics

Knowledge of programming languages like Python, MATLAB, and Visual Basic
-
Experience with structural testing and sensors (e.g., strain gauges, load cells, accelerometers) is a plus
-
Strong project management skills

Willingness to travel

Fluent in English
