University Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
Start of employment: immediately or by arrangement
The University Psychiatric Services (UPD) Bern offer you the unique opportunity to participate in the ongoing SLEEPAC study (sleep & physical activity counseling) at the University Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. In this exciting research, we examine the relationship between sleep, physical activity, and mental health in adolescents - directly in outpatient clinical practice. Our unpaid internship with 6-8 hours per week (a total of 300 hours) is the ideal opportunity to gain valuable practical experience. You will gain comprehensive insights into an innovative project and can actively contribute, rather than just collecting data. Additionally, continued project involvement after the internship is desired and will be compensated.
What to expect from us- You accompany adolescents with mental health challenges during their outpatient treatment
- You support the implementation of our innovative sleep and movement intervention (CBT-I, light therapy, movement coaching)
- You conduct cognitive performance tests with the participants
- You collect data on sleep and movement (actigraphy, questionnaires)
- You supervise and evaluate in-home sleep EEG measurements - sometimes also in the evening in the Bern area
- You work closely with the interdisciplinary research team and gain in-depth insight into clinical study organization and implementation
How to impress us
- You are enrolled in the Master’s program in Psychology at the University of Bern
- You are interested in empirical research, sleep, and movement in child and adolescent psychiatry
- You work precisely, reliably, and enjoy teamwork - and take your tasks seriously
- You are willing to assist with EEG measurements in the evenings
- You have solid PC skills (especially Word & Excel)
- You are looking for a practical opportunity to gain professional experience in a clinically oriented research project
