The ISME (Institut suisse de médecine équine) of the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Bern operates a referral clinic for horses and other equids at the Bern location and a veterinary clinic with a fitness and rehabilitation station as well as a reproduction center at the Avenches location. Our dedicated team comprises around 60 employees.
To complete our team at the Bern location, we are looking for a veterinary practice assistant or similar training at 80% - 100% starting December 1, 2025
Tasks include
• Assistance with veterinary examinations and treatments
• Work in the operating room including on-call duties at night and on weekends
• Preparation and administration of medications
• Recording of services, medications, and consumables in the clinic software
• Support in managing the clinic pharmacy and material procurement
• Organization of clinic laundry in cooperation with the external laundry service
Your profile
• Completed training as a veterinary practice assistant or in a comparable profession
• Confident handling of horses
• High reliability
• Teamwork, flexibility, and independent working style
