What you do here
We are looking for a hands-on person who has a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, tax, VAT and project management, thinks entrepreneurially and is adapting quickly to changing environments. The Head of Accounting is the single point of contact for all accounting and tax tasks for Global Travel Retail and Int. Distributors and coordinates all central and regional accounting and tax processes. This role also provides accounting and tax as well as VAT expertise on crucial projects for achieving our growth ambitions. The Head of Accounting is a senior role and part of our global Finance team, reporting to the CFO GTR/DIS and closely working with the central and regional finance teams.
- Single point of contact and responsibility for all accounting and tax processes for both divisions
- Oversee and manage the central and regional day-to-day operations of the accounting department for GTR and DIS, - ensuring correct and timely recording of financial transactions
- Lead the central accounting closings and ensure accurate financial reporting in line with the IFRS standards in close collaboration with Lindt's Group Accounting
- Coordinate and review the regional accounting submissions for multiple locations globally, working collaboratively with regional teams and service providers to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Manage the treasury requirements of the regional presences and take over accountability for all bank relationships
- Manage transfer pricing set-up, intercompany charges and intercompany reconciliations
- Ensure effective internal controls and further develop the Internal controlling system to safeguard company assets and maintain financial integrity
- Lead, coordinate and prepare internal and external audits for our two divisions and for multiple locations
- Lead the implementation of the compliance guidelines of the Lindt Group and act as Compliance Champion for our two divisions
- Manage corporate secretarial requirements together with local service providers for regional presences
- Manage and deliver projects with an accounting focus or provide financial expertise to cross-functional projects
- Shape the future accounting department together with the CFO GTR/DIS in line with the organization's strategic goals
- Define the accounting and tax set-up of new local presences around the globe
- Ensure compliant tax setup in all countries where we are present and accountability for filing local corporate tax and VAT returns
- Strive for standardization and optimization of accounting processes
- Support the CFO GTR/DIS as a strategic sparring partner in the daily business
When you fit in with us
- Bachelor/Master's degree with specialization in accounting/finance or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a finance department, or senior role in an audit firm, preferably in a multinational organization
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) would be a plus
- Strong knowledge of accounting and tax and VAT, with a keen ability to drive the daily operations (see qualifications above)
- Experience with coordinating accounting activities across multiple locations is highly desirable
- Technology and data affinity, experience with SAP (R3 or S/4Hana) would be a significant advantage
- Excellent command of English and German, written and spoken
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to support project execution
- Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset to support the CFO's agenda
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills in order to effectively work and collaborate across functions, hierarchies and different cultures/geographies
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
- Willingness to go the extra mile in a supportive and dynamic business environment
