The opportunity
The Surge Arresters Factory is a business unit within Hitachi Energy located in Wettingen, Switzerland. We are looking for a Factory Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of operations including project management, engineering, production, supply chain, quality, and operational excellence. You will also drive large CAPEX investment projects for the factory.

How you’ll make an impact

Execute and adapt the global manufacturing strategy for the business unit and product group to local needs

Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and business regulations across all operational areas

Structure the factory for operational clarity, with well-defined roles and responsibilities

Drive adherence to global and local standards, tools, and processes, while promoting best practices and lessons learned across teams

Develop and implement proactive strategies to boost profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency

Lead quality enhancement initiatives through clear targets, performance monitoring, and benchmarking

Champion transformation and continuous improvement with a forward-thinking and solution-oriented mindset

Your background

Higher Education in mechanical or electrical engineering

Executive MBA and financial background is beneficial

Minimum 5 years of proven leadership experience in a senior management role within a manufacturing environment

Strong leadership capabilities paired with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

International working experience and intercultural competence

Continuous improvement mindset

Fluency in English and German is required, both written and spoken
