Team Leader Work Permits 60 - 80%In the interest of companies and employees, the Office for Economy (AWI) with its approximately 120 employees contributes to strengthening the location Zurich. At AWI, economic competencies are bundled in the areas of location promotion, work permits, labor relations, labor inspectorate, and economics.
The Work Permits division ensures the enforcement of legal provisions concerning the admission of foreigners to employment at the cantonal level.
We look forward to your support as a team leader starting immediately or by arrangement! The position is to be filled at 60 - 80%, with working hours distributed over at least 4 days.
Your tasks
- Professional and personnel management of a team of 4 - 7 specialists in the area of work permits
- Ensuring quality in the processing of applications as well as coaching and supporting the team in daily business
- Taking over and processing complex special and precedent cases
- Shaping enforcement practice and actively participating in the further development of the Work Permits division (e.g., internal training or contributions to cultural development)
- Close cooperation with cantonal and national partners, especially the Migration Office and the State Secretariat for Migration
- Responsibility for selected support processes (e.g., management of quotas or working time control in the area)
Your profile
- At least three years of leadership experience as well as several years of professional experience in an administration-related, legal, economic, or migration-related environment
- A pronounced leadership competence that combines clear goal orientation with coaching and a trust-based culture of collaboration
- Solid education or further training in law, economics, or a related discipline
- Good understanding of economic contexts and developments as well as interest in labor market and procedural law issues
- Ability to formulate complex decisions in a structured and understandable manner
- Experience dealing with political processes and stakeholders
- An initiative, conceptually strong personality with joy in design and further development
- Confident demeanor towards contacts from administration and business
- Very good English skills (C1)
