Head Nurse of Care Unit - Sylvana (CUTR) in Epalinges
To complete our team, the Geriatrics and Geriatric Rehabilitation Service of CHUV (CUTR) Sylvana, at its site in Epalinges, is looking for a Head Nurse of Care Unit (ICUS) with an activity rate between 80% and 100%. Start date, from April 1, 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The University Hospital of Vaud (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in the fields of medical care, medical research, and training.
The University Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (CUTR) Sylvana is located in Epalinges.
The care offered in treatment and rehabilitation centers aims to accelerate or enable a return home. It also involves helping patients recover physical or cognitive functions affected by illness or accident, or enabling them to adapt to their new condition.
In this sense, the mission of CUTR Sylvana is part of the home care policy of the canton of Vaud.
Collaboration between several specialists is another essential element, as it allows care for the patient as a whole, taking into account their environment.
The Head Nurse of Care Unit will be responsible for a team of more than 30 caregivers.
Mission
- You ensure the efficiency of patient care and the quality of care provided, taking into account institutional reference frameworks in line with the service's mission
- You ensure the planning, supervision, evaluation, and training of a care team
- You lead the unit's care team, organize activities, and monitor their implementation
- You manage patient flow in collaboration with the unit's responsible physician and other concerned stakeholders
- You organize and supervise teaching and training activities for staff, students, and interns.
Profile
- You hold a HES nursing diploma (or an equivalent title as well as Red Cross Recognition, mandatory)
- You have completed proximity management training (over 300 hours) or are motivated to complete this training (mandatory)
- You have completed CAS or DAS type training in geriatrics, an asset
- You have confirmed clinical expertise in geriatrics
- Ability to assume management and personnel supervision responsibilities
- You are recognized for your leadership skills
- Dynamic, initiative, openness to change, and decisiveness
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- You master the IT tools used at CHUV
- You master spoken/written French (level C1).
