Supervisor / Attendant Lodge - Career Changers Welcome 80 - 100%The lodge at Zurich West Prison is the central contact point for external stakeholders and an important part of daily operations. With your professional and friendly demeanor, you contribute significantly to a positive and safe environment. To strengthen our team, we are filling a temporary and a permanent position as Supervisor / Attendant – Lodge.
In this meaningful role at Zurich West Prison, you ensure a professional, efficient, and secure visitor management. As the first point of contact for visitors, relatives, lawyers, and external professionals, you represent the institution externally. With your friendly, confident, and service-oriented manner, you contribute significantly to a professional overall impression. The lodge is a place where coordination, overview, and service come together daily.

At GZW, we operate 24/7, 365 days a year. In the lodge, you ensure that everyday life in the prison runs in a structured and safe manner.
Your tasks
- You monitor and control access as well as security-relevant processes
- As the first point of contact, you welcome visitors and external professionals
- You are responsible for the telephone switchboard, coordinating incoming concerns efficiently and solution-oriented
- In close cooperation with internal services, you ensure smooth operations
- Administrative tasks related to lodge operations are also part of your daily routine
- Direct contact with inmates is limited to a minimum. Occasionally, you accompany inmates, e.g., during transfers from the module to the visiting rooms. Even in these situations, you ensure strict compliance with security regulations
- You conduct conversations with upset or emotionally burdened persons calmly and professionally
- In security-critical moments, you act calmly and decisively
- Even under time pressure or in unclear situations, you remain structured and clear
What you bring
- You are at least 25 years old, have a vocational qualification (EFZ or journeyman's certificate), and have no entries in the criminal or debt register
- Ideally, you have experience in security, care, or service-related environments
- High psychological resilience, sense of responsibility, and assertiveness are natural for you
- A calm, factual, and composed demeanor as well as empathy in demanding situations
- Clear communication, a confident attitude, and appropriate persistence
- You have very good German language skills, both spoken and written
- Proficiency in MS Office and a general IT affinity are among your strengths
- You are willing to work shifts, including early, late, and weekend shifts
