The Operations Department of the International Department is looking for an individual as Program Manager West Africa (80–100%) to start immediately or by arrangement.
What you can achieve
- Strategic and programmatic support for our country representations (Country Representatives) in implementing the subregional program for West Africa
- Strengthening the National Societies in the region in implementing their strategies, delivering high-quality services to vulnerable target groups, and in their role as a state aid organization
- Maintaining and expanding relationships and networks with partner organizations in the subregion
- Leading and monitoring program finances and ensuring alignment with strategic goals as well as promoting effective coordination, budget planning, financing, PMER, and reporting
- Primary contact person between the country representations and the headquarters for internal matters concerning the subregion (marketing, fundraising, communication, reporting, audit, and controlling, etc.)
What you bring
- University degree in International Cooperation, Humanitarian Affairs, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in program coordination, development cooperation, or humanitarian aid, as well as international experience in development cooperation and/or humanitarian work
- Solid knowledge in program management as well as in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (PMEAL)
- Experience in financial management, budgeting, and multi-year planning
- Strong communication, diplomacy, and intercultural skills as well as experience leading decentralized teams
- Fluent French skills (at least C1) as well as English and German skills (at least C1)
- Teamwork skills, resilience, and high commitment
- Experience with the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an advantage
