The Migration Office operates daily in the exciting political environment of all migration issues. We are responsible for foreigner permits, enforce federal foreigner and asylum law, issue biometric Swiss passports and foreigner identity cards, and provide care and integration in our asylum centers.
We are looking for a
Clerk Team Expulsion (m/f/d)
Starting December 1, 2025 or by arrangement
Workload: 80%
Workplace: City of St. Gallen
What to expect
- You are responsible for implementing expulsions and national bans
- You organize the execution of expulsions according to the Dublin Agreement by coordinating cases and ensuring the return to the responsible Dublin states
- As part of your duties, you conduct identity interviews and obtain the necessary travel documents
- You review and order administrative detention under foreigner law and prepare the corresponding applications and statements for the detention review authority
- The organization and monitoring of voluntary and forced departures is carried out in close cooperation with federal authorities and the cantonal police – your organizational talent is required here
- You work closely with cantonal and national authorities and thus build a valuable network
What distinguishes you
- You have completed commercial training (profile E or M) with at least 5 years of professional experience; legal or administrative law knowledge is a plus
- You enjoy dealing with legal issues
- You are a resilient personality and act confidently and solution-oriented even in challenging situations
- You communicate clearly, openly, and treat people from different cultures with respect and appreciation
- Even when things are busy, you keep a cool head, set priorities, and react flexibly to changes
- You express yourself confidently in German and work securely with MS Office; English and French skills are an advantage
