Back-End Engineer

grape is a leading digital employee insurer revolutionising the insurance industry. We are looking for a product-minded engineer to join our team. You have experience with backend software development. You love autonomy, setting your own goals, are curious to learn about new technologies, and are excited to be part of an early-stage startup. You will be an integral part of the technical development and help us evolve our platform into a fully-fledged insurance suite as well as building integrations with our customers' systems. You will work closely with the product team, the founders, our users, and our other internal stakeholders.

The Role

  • Design and implement backend features for our web-based product in collaboration with our interdisciplinary team
  • Build integrations with our customers' systems.
  • Shape the technical architecture and DevOps of our grape
  • Optionfor occasional work onfrontend, if desired.
  • You have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • You have great communication skills and are passionate about helping team members, you appreciate and apply best engineering practices.
  • You have >3 years of relevant experience working on fast-scaling SaaS products
  • You have experience in building backend TypeScript and Node.js applications
  • You have experience in building GraphQL or REST APIs
  • You have worked with Relational Databases before
  • You have experience in integrating APIs from third-party providers
  • You have experience with continuous integration, unit- and integration testing
  • You write clean, secure, tested, and documented code
  • Hybrid setup, you can work from home or the office. However, we love spending time together in our beautiful office in Hardbrücke, Zürich.
