About the job

Caring for premature and newborn infants from birth, as well as infants up to about three months with medical, surgical, or orthopedic conditions in our interdisciplinary neonatological IMC and neonatology according to the principles of family-oriented care

Performing interventions in close collaboration with the medical service, assisting with interventional procedures, and monitoring patients

Initiating and organizing patient reports, nursing discussions, and interprofessional case conferences

Documentation and implementation of the entire nursing process (ePPD) as well as validation of the electronic patient documentation

Recording services using LEP®

Active contribution to a smooth daily routine

Diploma as Dipl. Nurse HF or FH with a focus on pediatrics/neonatology (SRK recognition for foreign diplomas)
Professional experience in caring for premature and newborn infants
Further training NDK Neonatology or interest in completing it
Confident, cooperative, and flexible action in an interdisciplinary professional field

Your work area

Together with our neonatological and pediatric intensive care unit and the obstetrics department of the women's clinic at HOCH Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen, we form the Eastern Swiss Perinatal Center and care for about 400 sick premature and newborn infants annually, including about 100 premature infants with a birth weight under 1500g. In cooperation with the cantonal rescue service and REGA, we provide a 24-hour transport service responsible for the pickup and care of sick newborns in other clinics within the foundation area of the Eastern Swiss Children's Hospital.

In September 2026, we will move into our new building, and neonatology will be merged with the neonatological IMC on a new ward. Apply today and you can become part of this team.
