Legal Counsel

Within the legal department (Group Corporate & Investment), you will be responsible for advising and providing legal support to the Private Client unit and other units of the Bank.

YOUR MISSION:

• Legal advice and support on banking and investment activities for the Private Client unit and other units of the Bank, particularly in the area of financial services and products, including sustainable investment, private assets, trading activities, and corporate law;
• Drafting, negotiating, and monitoring contractual documentation signed by the Bank and group companies with counterparties and service providers, especially financial services contracts, confidentiality agreements, licenses, intra-group agreements;
• Providing legal support for regulatory projects and various projects related to the development of the group, financial services, and products;
• Managing claims and disputes involving financial services and instruments, including monitoring the progress of ongoing cases, liaising with external lawyers, advising management;
• Contributing to monitoring and informing on the evolution of the Swiss and international legal and regulatory environment (adapting guidelines and work processes, internal training, participating in working groups within the ASB or other professional associations, and drafting position papers);
• Collaborating with all internal departments to ensure consistent application of legal standards;
• Liaising with external counsel and regulatory authorities when necessary.

YOUR PROFILE:

• At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar position or in a law firm;
• Complete Swiss legal education with Swiss bar admission;
• LL.M. or other postgraduate training is an asset;
• Knowledge and experience in Swiss banking law, particularly in private banking;
• Excellent command of French, English, and German; any other language is an asset;
• Pragmatic approach, excellent responsiveness, and results orientation;
• Dynamic and positive with a very good ability to work in a team;
• Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as very good written and oral communication;
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and handle cases independently;
• Residence in Switzerland.
