The State Archive of the Canton of Zurich (www.staatsarchiv.zh.ch) is the central archive of the Canton of Zurich and its historical legal predecessors with archive holdings spanning 1150 years. It preserves original documents from the Cantonal Council, the government, the cantonal central and district administrations, as well as the cantonal courts, notaries, and independently public-law institutions, and makes them accessible to the public.
The Processing Department is looking for an
Information and Documentation Specialist 80%
starting March 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- Processing of analog and digital archival holdings
- Preparation and import of metadata
- Training of I + D apprentices (vocational and practical training)
Requirements
- Completed university of applied sciences degree as I + D specialist
- Professional experience in processing analog and digital archival material
- Experience in training apprentices (preferably completed further training as a vocational trainer)
- Organizational talent, independent and efficient working style, enjoyment of teamwork
- Expressive in writing and speaking, quick comprehension, and resilient
- Knowledge of the Zurich cantonal administration and national history is an advantage
