Alternative drives and sustainable energy sources are the pillars of the industrial future. In addition to battery contact systems for electric vehicles, we jointly develop products for use in sensor technology of autonomous vehicles or connectors for alternative energies.
The success of iwis smart connect is based on 400 dedicated employees and, together with two other companies, secures the future of the iwis mechatronics division. This is one of three independently operating business units of the iwis Group.
Learning content during your training:
- Acquire extensive professional knowledge in manual and machine metalworking
- Manufacture of precision individual parts
- Assembly, adjustment, and commissioning of tools for stamping and forming technology
- Maintenance of progressive tools
- Setup and commissioning of pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic circuits
- Implement quality assurance measures
- Basics of CAD drawing creation
- Programming and setup of our CNC machines
- Effectively control work planning and workflow

Duration of training: 3.5 years
Vocational school: 1st year vocational school Füssen, from the 2nd year State Vocational School Kaufbeuren
Possible areas of deployment as a tool mechanic after completing training:
- Skilled worker in the production departments (setting up and supervising production facilities)
- Employee in the internal tool service (maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of our tools for stamping and forming technology)
- Skilled worker in our special tool construction
- Quality assurance (with additional training)
Possible qualification paths after completing training:
- Achieving the intermediate school leaving certificate with a professional qualification of 2.5 or better
- Further qualification in the areas of quality (quality specialist / quality manager)
- Master craftsman, technician, or technical business economist
