Electricity meters in Felsberg are becoming digital.
As part of the ongoing digitization of the power grid, all households in Felsberg will be equipped with a modern smart meter. The conversion of electricity meters in the municipality of Felsberg will start in October 2025 and last until mid-2026.
With this, rhiienergie not only contributes to more efficient energy use but also meets the requirements of the federal energy strategy, which foresees the nationwide deployment of intelligent meters by 2027.
The smart meter automatically transmits electricity consumption and, if available, the feed-in from a connected PV system to rhiienergie. Manual reading is no longer necessary. The data is processed securely, encrypted, and in accordance with data protection regulations. The switch to the new, intelligent electricity meters is free of charge for rhiienergie customers.
