Operations and Technology, Building Technology Department

The University of Bern educates over 19,000 students and employs more than 8,000 staff in around 150 institutes as well as the central department. It uses a diverse spatial infrastructure spread over around 130 properties for these activities. The Operations and Technology Department is responsible for the efficient, economical, and safe operation of buildings.
As an organizational unit of building technology, the Technical Service ensures reliable operation and proper maintenance of building services systems together with the building services organizations.
Tasks
- Leadership and further development of the craftsman team with six employees
- Coordination and scheduling of orders via the ticketing system
- Control and monitoring of maintenance, repair, and servicing work on building services systems – internally as well as with external partners
- Analysis and systematic follow-up of malfunctions
- Organization and awarding of periodic electrical installation inspections
- Optimization of existing maintenance contracts for building services systems
- Planning and conducting system instructions for building services staff
- Maintenance and documentation of relevant data in the CAFM system (Planon)
- Management of safety certificates (SiNa) using Infradata
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as an electrician
- Further training with a federal certificate of competence
- Solid technical understanding and high commitment
- Experience in leading a technical team
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Several years of experience in the operation and maintenance of building services systems
- Confident handling of IT systems (including MS Office, CAFM Planon, Infradata, building management systems); corresponding knowledge is an advantage
