The Building Directorate is responsible wherever there are roads, rivers, lakes, and forests in the canton of Zurich, where wild animals live or agriculture is practiced. In many of our construction projects, large amounts of soil must be excavated. To close the material cycles as much as possible, we use the material for soil enhancement projects. At the same time, these create new crop rotation areas.
As a Project Manager Soil and Environment, you are responsible for the planning and implementation of these projects. You also take care of procuring crop rotation area compensation rights and coordinate these projects with the involved offices of the Building Directorate. Organizationally, this newly created position is located at the Environmental Office of the cantonal civil engineering office.

What you will accomplish with us:
- In collaboration with the specialists of the involved offices, you develop a strategy for soil utilization
- You lead the soil enhancement projects of the canton of Zurich
- You take care of purchasing compensation rights
- You work closely with specialist offices, cantonal environmental offices, agriculture, and other stakeholders
- You are responsible for the specialist areas of soil and crop rotation areas in the Environmental Office of the civil engineering office
What you should bring:
- Degree in environmental engineering, environmental sciences, agronomy UNI/ETH/FH or a comparable education
- Experience in planning, designing, and executing soil projects
- Communication skills for a goal-oriented dialogue with various stakeholders and affected parties
- Experience in planning and implementation in general construction as well as in waste and circular economy is an advantage
