The University of Teacher Education Graubünden (PHGR) is a public-law university with cantonal sponsorship. With around 140 employees and approximately 520 students in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs, it supports teachers in all phases of their professional careers. The educational offerings include Bachelor’s degree programs for kindergarten and primary school as well as Master’s degree programs, certificate courses, and specialized additional training in German, Romansh, and Italian. It is the only trilingual university in Switzerland. The research focuses in the school environment are questions from the areas of "multilingualism," "school and STEM," and "educational sciences."
We are looking for two members of the University Council for PHGR as of July 1, 2026.
- The University Council is the strategic management and supervisory body of the PHGR and is elected by the government of the canton of Graubünden. Due to term limits, two part-time seats are to be filled for the election period 2026 – 2030 as of July 1, 2026.
- As an honest, convincing personality with academic qualifications, you understand how to competently and effectively shape and accompany the strategic management as well as demanding development and innovation processes of the PHGR as a member of a committee.
- With pronounced communication skills and strategic thinking ability as well as a process-oriented, flexible, and interdisciplinary working style, you succeed in promoting open dialogue and constructively and prudently shaping change processes in the University Council.
- You are familiar with educational offerings and education policy at the cantonal and national levels. Based on your profile, you know the teacher education offerings at all educational levels and possess the necessary political sensitivity for current education topics. You have proven and solid competencies to support the PHGR in managing current and future education-related challenges in the trilingual canton of Graubünden. You are familiar with the political processes in the canton.
- As a committed personality connected to the canton of Graubünden, you contribute significantly to both inter-cantonal and intra-cantonal cooperation as well as to linking the institution with regionally relevant actors and practice partners. Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage.
