About the job
BACHTELEN
Do you want to empower children and young people in their growth, accompany them, and also make a difference and help shape things yourself?
Do you have a confirmed study place and are looking for a training position that suits you?
At Bachtelen, children, adolescents, and young adults are the focus – we accompany them in challenging life situations with heart, mind, and a pinch of humor. In a strong team both personally and professionally, we shape their everyday lives together and create spaces for development.
The Foyer Däderiz in Grenchen is a 365-day offer for seven adolescents and young adults aged 14 to 20 on their way to independence. Together with them, we develop life and future perspectives. Our work is based on trust, participation, and relationship building at eye level. We orient ourselves on trauma pedagogical principles, life-world orientation, and empowerment. This way, we create a safe, lively framework in which young people can test their strengths and grow from them.
We are looking for as of August 1
a social pedagogue in training 60%
Your profile
- You have a passion for supporting children and young people in challenging life situations and enjoy relationship work
- You are team-oriented, communicative, and contribute authentically – whether in shift handovers, case discussions, or interdisciplinary cooperation with parents and networks
- You appreciate a stable team where mutual support, humor, and respect are paramount and where we laugh, reflect, and grow together
- You like to work in a structured, schedule-oriented, and reliable manner in a 365-day offer – with fixed frameworks for daily routines, participation processes, and trauma pedagogical approaches
- You have a confirmed study place in social pedagogy / social work (HF or FH) and can commit to a 60% training workload according to your school’s requirements
- You are eager to connect theory and practice, bring curiosity for trauma pedagogical, life-world oriented, and empowering approaches, and are ready to develop professionally and personally
Your training with us
- During your training, you gradually take co-responsibility in the group’s daily life, accompany children and young people in their development processes, and actively participate in leisure activities, daily structure, and relationship work
- You participate in site meetings, case discussions, and interdisciplinary exchanges and learn to plan, document, and reflect on pedagogical processes
- A qualified practical instructor accompanies you with regular practical discussions, feedback, and support with practical assignments from school
- School and practice are coordinated: you receive time slots for block weeks, study days, and performance records in agreement with the duty roster
What to expect from us
- A stable core team of experienced, humorous, and appreciative professionals who support and carry each other
- Clear roles, responsibilities, and processes (duty planning, case management, reference pedagogy) that provide orientation and structure your everyday life well
- A careful introduction with team onboarding, clear contact persons, and regular feedback
What you get from us
Your work is meaningful, responsible, and varied. We take development work seriously and offer space for your ideas – we want to move forward together. Supervisions, case discussions, and professional coaching are a matter of course for us; they ensure quality and give you support in everyday life. Bachtelen stands by its employees – even when things get stormy.
Our attractive employment conditions offer many extras, such as:
- Paid breaks
- Fair allowances for night, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Coverage of semester fees (max. CHF 2000.-)
- Social insurances plus, exceeding the legal minimum
- Attractive loyalty bonuses starting from 5 years of service, various employee events
- 5 additional paid vacation days
- And much more (we will tell you in an interview)
