Join Julius Baer as a GPS Associate, an entry-level opportunity for high-potential early-career professionals seeing to build a long-term career in private banking with our Global Products and Solutions division.
As part of the Control Framework & Advisory team in Zurich, you will begin your career in GPS with a tailored onboarding and development approach, including rotational assignments across key teams. Over 18-24 months you’ll gain hands-on experience, deepen your risk expertise, and build relationships across the division – preparing you for a successful career as Wealth Planning Business Risk Manager with GPS.

As a GPS Associate Wealth Planning Business Risk Manager, your will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the Wealth Planning risk and control framework. As a key member of the team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact, drive efficiencies and promote our culture of risk management You will work alongside experienced experts to:

Be the go-to Wealth Planning Business Risk Manager for the GPS division - provide expert guidance and risk advisory to the stakeholders, ensuring that key risks are addressed and mitigated

Design, implement, evaluate, and maintain the control risk framework for GPS to strengthen the control landscape of the WP sub-division in alignment to the Bank’s internal control standards

Manage the effectiveness of the controls across the Wealth Planning sub-unit, identifying areas for improvement and mitigate potential risks to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements

Assess impact of changes of bank-wide policies and ensure adjustments are reflected in the internal controls

Through rotational assignments across relevant GPS teams you will broaden your understanding of our capabilities, clients, and ways of working, while building a strong internal network.
You will receive ongoing coaching and development to support your integration and long-term success within GPS.

Administer the internal control tool (e.g. creating new controls, editing existing controls and assigning roles as required) centrally for GPS

Deliver targeted training to promote our culture of risk awareness and risk management

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and identify opportunities to enhance functional efficiency, proposing process/control improvements for the purpose of implementing effective controls to mitigate key business risks

Represent the GPS Division in bank-wide committees, projects, and working groups dedicated to WP-relevant risks and/or control topics
Through rotational assignments across relevant GPS teams you will broaden your understanding of our capabilities, clients, and ways of working, while building a strong internal network.
You will receive ongoing coaching and development to support your integration and long-term success within GPS.
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education, preferably in Banking & Finance, Law, Accounting or Tax 2-3 years of professional experience (including internships)
- Further education in financial markets, financial planning or risk is a strong plus (e.g., CFA, CFP, FRM)
- Relevant Industry Experience: More than 5 years of working experience preferably in the private banking industry, with a focus on risk, legal, compliance, or Wealth Planning/Trust Fiduciary Services background
- Strong knowledge of risk management and audit principles Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Familiar with investment products and services, along with associated risks
- Good understanding of banking business, financial products, and processes related to Wealth Planning and/or Trust/Fiduciary Services
- Expertise in (in-depth) data analysis, gap assessments, and development of solution options
- Able to work independently in a global team setup, take ownership of initiatives, and having a precise, structured way of working
- Highly motivated personality with pronounced “can-do” attitude and solution orientation
- Fluent in English (German is a strong advantage)
- Eligibility to work in the country of application throughout the duration of the programme
