We are expanding our six-member marketing and communication team and creating a new role. As Co-Head Communication (Product Owner), you take responsibility for the strategy, prioritization, and implementation of our communication and marketing topics, ensuring clear impact both internally and externally.

Co-Head Communication (Product Owner) (80–100% – all identities and backgrounds)
As Co-Head Communication with a focus on Product Owner, you take on the professional leadership of our communication work. You translate strategy into clear priorities, manage the communication backlog, and ensure that measures are not only planned but excellently implemented. You work closely with your Co-Head (Agile Coach focus).
- You set strategic guardrails for communication and translate goals into narratives, messages, and priorities
- You are responsible as Product Owner Communication for the communication backlog: capturing requirements, structuring, prioritizing, steering implementations, and ensuring quality
- You lead professionally: you provide direction, make decisions, moderate goal conflicts, and make impact visible
- You plan and execute campaigns end-to-end – from concept and content to rollout and impact measurement
- You strengthen digital communication impact (website, newsletter, social media) based on data (SEO, analytics, KPIs)
- You manage stakeholder communication in diverse environments (e.g., science, politics, partners)
- Situationally, you take on issue and crisis communication as well as coordination of external partners (agencies, freelancers)
- And yes: you actively help increase output and also get hands-on yourself, e.g., writing, refining stories, key assets, or campaigns
- Several years of experience in strategic communication/marketing with strong implementation skills
- Leadership experience (professional and/or personnel) and enjoyment in effectively coaching and empowering others in their work
- Very strong writing and storytelling skills in German and English
- Experience in product ownership / prioritization / delivery management (backlogs, briefings, reviews, quality)
- Campaign expertise including impact measurement and learnings (KPIs, analytics)
- Experience in PR and stakeholder communication; ideally in demanding, public, or federal environments
- Structured working style, decisiveness, and a good sense for stakeholder management
- A defining role with high impact between strategy, leadership, and hands-on communication
- A co-head setup with clear division of tasks and close collaboration
- A dedicated, specialized team and short decision-making paths
- Flexible working model (working hours, home office, compensation of overtime, etc.)
- Company languages German and English, team language mainly German
