With nearly 1,200 employees, the Department of Acute Medicine (DMA) includes anesthesiology, clinical pharmacology and toxicology, intensive care, and emergency services. It fulfills a quadruple mission through its services that provide their expertise in frequent interaction with all University Hospitals of Geneva, thanks to a transversal platform, with the aim of ensuring the best possible care for patients.
The Intensive Care Service cares for adult patients who present or are in immediate danger of developing vital organ failures due to a pathology or its complications, whether medical or surgical, and whose life risk is generally engaged. It also advises and intervenes when needed during resuscitation situations in other HUG services and participates in urgent hospital interventions.
Job Description
Your main mission is to welcome the families of patients during weekends and public holidays in the Intensive Care Service.
You accompany families to their loved ones while managing the telephone switchboard during their presence.
You also perform some secretarial work, sort and file patient records for digitization.
Qualifications
You are preferably a student in nursing, physiotherapy, or medicine.
You have the ability to manage the unexpected and stressful situations while maintaining good organization.
While being comfortable in contacts, you know how to show empathy in difficult situations.
You demonstrate good adaptability and are a discreet, courteous, rigorous, and precise person in the tasks assigned to you.
Some knowledge of English is an asset.
