Intern Traffic Fundamentals for 12 Months 80 - 100%The Directorate of Economic Affairs of the Canton of Zurich (www.vd.zh.ch) oversees the Office for Labor, the Office for Economy, the Office for Mobility, as well as administratively the Zurich Transport Network (ZVV). The Office for Mobility shapes traffic development in the Canton of Zurich with the goal of enabling demand-oriented and sustainable mobility for a livable Canton of Zurich and deals with future topics such as digitalization, climate protection, and the infrastructure of the future. The main areas of responsibility of the approximately 80 employees include the development and implementation of overall traffic concepts and agglomeration programs, the content responsibility for the cantonal traffic spatial planning, the strategic planning of road infrastructures, and the supervision of the night flight regulations at Zurich Airport. Starting September 1, 2026, we are looking for you as an Intern Traffic Fundamentals for the Department of Mobility Development and Control!
These are your tasks:
- You are responsible for the analysis, evaluation, and presentation of the results of traffic surveys and model calculations
- You create maps and visualizations with GIS and support the development of strategic concepts for the mobility of tomorrow (e.g., agglomeration programs, regional traffic concepts)
- You prepare topics and present them – sometimes spontaneously
- You detect new and innovative trends and ideas for the mobility of the future
What you bring:
- You are studying traffic planning, spatial planning, geography, or something comparable – or have just completed your studies
- You bring affinity and passion for data, its preparation, and analysis
- You are ideally already familiar with GIS as well as software for data analysis and visualization (Excel, Power BI, R, etc.) – otherwise, you will learn it with us
- You think along, are interested in traffic and mobility topics, and enjoy presenting your results and findings
- You appear confident and contribute your own ideas
