What you will do here

Develop and conduct teaching in the fields of animal breeding, livestock genetics, genomics, and animal genetic resources at the bachelor level in linguistically mixed classes (German/French)
Organize and supervise student work at bachelor and master levels
Build your own applied research activities in the areas of animal breeding, genetics, genomics, and animal genetic resources through third-party funding acquisition (defining the focus areas within the topic)
Develop your own service and continuing education offerings
Position and make HAFL visible in the industry through presentations and publications and maintain a strong network

What you ideally bring

Master's degree (FH or ETH/University) in agronomy or veterinary medicine (PhD desired)
Several years of professional experience in animal breeding/livestock genetics with good knowledge of the industry and agricultural practice
Solid knowledge in breeding value estimation (conventional and genomic) and molecular genetic methods, as well as experience in bioinformatics data analysis (SNP data, sequence data)
Ideally qualification or experience in university teaching and related tasks
High degree of initiative, responsibility, teamwork skills, and willingness to work interdisciplinarily and lead a small team
Native German or French speaker with good knowledge of the other language
