Application Manager Taxation 100%
Welcome to the fascinating world of taxes! The cantonal tax office, together with the municipal tax offices, collects taxes for the federal government, the canton, and the municipalities. We support private individuals and companies throughout the entire tax collection process. Around 800 qualified employees are committed to this at the location in Zurich Altstetten.
Our department "Digital Services" is the digital backbone of taxation. Everything revolves around specialist applications, operations, projects, support, IT security, as well as change and release management. Over one million private individuals and companies entrust us with their tax data every year and expect our online portals to be reliably available. At the same time, over 2,500 cantonal and municipal employees rely on our approximately 90 specialist applications. And this is exactly where you can make an important contribution with your expertise.
Your tasks
- You are responsible for the further development and maintenance of the assigned IT services and applications throughout their entire lifecycle.
- You collect and prioritize requirements, check their feasibility, and coordinate with specialist departments and partners.
- In operations, you ensure smooth processes, manage 2nd/3rd level support, and conduct user training.
- Together with internal and external partners (Office for Informatics, manufacturers, developers, suppliers), you ensure stable performance and represent the interests of the users.
- In addition, you take on financial and contractual responsibility in your area and keep planning and budget in view.
- You actively participate in projects, specialist groups, and committees.
Your profile
- You have a university degree in computer science, business informatics, business administration, or an equivalent qualification. An affinity for taxation is an advantage.

- You approach tasks purposefully, take responsibility, and convince with assertiveness and clear communication.
- With initiative and resilience, you advance topics and develop yourself both professionally and personally.
- Networked and entrepreneurial thinking as well as customer orientation characterize your actions.
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form complete your profile.
Our offer
- A solid employer with attractive employment conditions according to cantonal guidelines.
