About the job
Join the Turbomachinery Integration department within gas turbine business in Baden, Switzerland and contribute to the continuous improvement of Ansaldo Energia products.
Your tasks
- Provide mechanical integrity solutions and lifetime predictions of gas turbine structural parts, rotor and casings
- Iterate closely with other functional gas turbine teams like Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, Clearance, Design, Manufacturing and Lifetime Extension to ensure parts meet static and dynamic criteria
- Issue and check technical reports and prepare design review material
- Capture lessons learned and ensure the integration of field feedback into the design
- Support manufacturing process development by providing technical expertise
- Issue nonconformity resolutions with Quality and design teams
- Conduct failure analysis and provide technical feedback to field operation findings
- Issue Lifetime Extension specifications
- Prepare and support material, part, spin pit and engine tests and validation.
Your profile
- Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably dealing with rotor structural assessments
- Experience in state-of-the-art 3D finite element modelling (ideally ANSYS)
- Sound knowledge of thermal/structural mechanics, rotor and structural dynamics and physics of materials
- Understanding of gas and steam turbine fundamentals
- Fluency in English, Italian &/or German language skills are a plus
- Open-minded, analytical and target-oriented team player able to work in a multicultural environment
- Creative, thorough and independent with good communication skills
- Availability to travel 15% of the time, worldwide.
