The Red Cross Baselland is committed to supporting people in need with a variety of services. Around 130 employees and more than 500 volunteers help in emergency situations, engage in further education, health promotion, and integration of the population in the Basel region.
For our Education Department, we are looking for a course instructor for the training program «Specialist in Activating Everyday Design – Focus on Dementia» starting January 2026 or by arrangement.
In the training program «Specialist in Activating Everyday Design – Focus on Dementia», participants acquire skills to support people with dementia in care and support institutions to create a fulfilling daily life and draw strength from it. This significantly influences the quality of life of those affected.
The training program starts each spring and autumn. The teaching days are Monday (autumn course) and Tuesday (spring course). Graduates complete the program within one year with a certificate.
As a course instructor, you play a central role in imparting professional, methodological, and social skills for successful completion.
We are looking for course instructors for the following areas:
- Topic Dementia (3 - 5 days/year, Tuesdays, possibly also Mondays)
- Music and Singing (1 - 2 days/year, Mondays, possibly also Tuesdays)
- Movement (2 - 3 days/year, Mondays, possibly also Tuesdays)
The specified weekdays are fixed. Usually, whole days are taught at a time. The content of the training program is defined. Teaching materials can be individually created and adapted within the framework of the curriculum and learning objectives.
The assignments are paid hourly.
Your profile
- Specialist in Activation HF (for the topic of dementia, a certified nurse HF/FH is also suitable)
- Proven training or further education in the intended teaching topic
- Experience with people affected by dementia in a professional context
- Pedagogical training or further education (e.g., SVEB 1 or federal specialist certificate)
