About the job

The City Bailiff and Debt Enforcement Office Winterthur-City, located in the heart of Winterthur's old town, is the second largest debt enforcement office in the canton of Zurich. In a young, motivated, and dynamic team of 20 employees, you can expect progressive structures, modern working hours, and exciting tasks, with attractive remuneration corresponding to the responsibility. From February 1, 2026, or by arrangement, we offer an independent, team-oriented, and reliable person a varied and versatile activity in the area of enforcement and office work.

Your Tasks

Together with the respective team, you are responsible for, among other things:

Independent processing and decision-making in the execution of debt enforcement in the initiation and seizure procedures

Assistance in counter service and related cash handling

Execution of seizures, retentions, and arrest procedures in internal and external service

City bailiff official duties such as assisting with apartment inspections, facts, and technical reports including preparing the official protocol for evidence preservation

Correspondence with debtors, creditors, employers, authorities, courts, etc.

Your Profile

Commercial or equivalent basic training

Experience as a bailiff is an advantage

Good to very good knowledge of the Swiss Debt Enforcement and Bankruptcy Act (SchKG)

Good IT user skills (Excel / MS Office)

Confident German language skills (foreign languages are an advantage)

Excellent communication skills, great empathy, and psychological resilience

Driver's license category B
