Nurse for the Geriatric Psychiatry Hospital Unit
The University Service of Geriatric Psychiatry (SUPAA) of the North Vaud Psychiatry Center is looking for a certified nurse at 80%, starting May 1, 2026, or a date to be agreed upon.

Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
SUPAA is a specialized service whose mission is to guarantee care, teaching, and research in psychiatry for the elderly.
The Geriatric Psychiatry Hospital Service of the CPNVD includes a 24/7 emergency service as well as a unit welcoming patients presenting any psychiatric pathology of advanced age.
Mission
- You ensure the identification, planning, execution, and evaluation of nursing care in preventive, curative, palliative, and educational fields, based on evidence-based clinical assessment
- You ensure the proper execution of delegated medical acts and take responsibility by demonstrating your mastery of technical skills
- You ensure the reception of patients and their relatives, preparation for discharge, as well as the organization of work and continuity of unit activities through effective communication and coordination within the interprofessional team
- You develop and carry out prevention, health promotion, functional rehabilitation, and social reintegration actions
- You actively participate in improving the efficiency of nursing care based on scientific evidence and in developing your self-assessment and learning skills.
Profile
- You hold a HES nursing diploma (or an equivalent title recognized by the Red Cross for foreign diplomas, mandatory)
- You have a good knowledge of the Vaud medico-social network
- You have experience and the ability to manage crisis situations
- You have experience in geriatric psychiatry
- You possess excellent interpersonal skills validated by training and supervision
- You demonstrate autonomy in work and patient follow-up.
