As part of the Education Directorate of the Canton of Zurich, the Office for Youth and Career Counseling is responsible for services in the field of child and youth welfare as well as career counseling. Children, adolescents, and families are at the center of our work. We dedicate ourselves to them daily with great passion and commitment.
On behalf of the government council, the AJB offers consultations for children and adolescents in acute crises in a preliminary four-year project until the end of 2026. The new service supports children, adolescents, and their families quickly, easily accessible, and on short notice to find sustainable and viable solutions. This closes existing gaps in the service landscape and relieves already existing services.
As a psychologist or social worker, you will provide short-term counseling to children and adolescents in acute crises and their families. You work networked and in close cooperation with professionals from social work, psychology, schools, and child and adolescent psychiatry in the Canton of Zurich. We are looking to strengthen the team from January 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Your tasks
- Independent counseling of children and adolescents in acute crises and their families
- Networking with professionals and services in the field of child and youth welfare in the Canton of Zurich
- Participation in the development of professional foundations and in the (further) development of the service
Your profile
- Master’s degree in Psychology from a University of Applied Sciences or University or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work
- Further training in systemic and/or solution-oriented counseling
- Experience in the field of child and youth welfare
- Networked thinking and acting, high independence, and enjoyment in taking responsibility
- Openness and enjoyment of teamwork
