Head of Department Direct Payments

The Agricultural Office of the Canton of Thurgau is responsible for the implementation of the federal agricultural policy, agricultural education and consulting, as well as for promoting a competitive Thurgau agricultural and food industry.

We are looking for a Head of Department Direct Payments starting on February 1, 2026 or by arrangement

• Personnel and professional management of the Direct Payments department
• Responsible for the implementation of direct payments
• Planning, controlling and leading projects within the area of responsibility
• Close cooperation with specialist offices of the federal government, cantons and municipalities
• Coordination and alignment with other offices, control bodies, external partners and associations

• Completed studies as an agronomist (ETH or FH)
• Several years of leadership and professional experience in a comparable function
• Strong solution- and result-orientation as well as high resilience, flexibility and teamwork skills
• Very good communication and organizational skills, confident appearance towards internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in the interpretation and application of laws and regulations
