The University Neurorehabilitation Service of the DNC is looking for a medical secretary for the neurorehabilitation and paraplegia sectors for a workload between 80% and 100% starting 01.10.2025.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Department of Clinical Neurosciences includes the neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation services, the Leenaards Memory Center, the Neuroscience Research Center, and the Spinal Surgery Service. It offers integrated and personalized care to patients suffering from diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, from brain to muscle.
The University Neurorehabilitation Service is involved in the treatment of all types of nervous system injuries (traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, encephalitis, etc.). The service provides highly specialized and interdisciplinary care throughout the patients' recovery process, from inpatient to outpatient phases.
Mission
- You ensure the administrative management of patient files, both outpatient and inpatient, for the neurorehabilitation unit as well as for outpatient paraplegia consultations
- You collaborate with the different sectors by organizing multidisciplinary conferences and coordinating follow-up meetings
- You work flexibly and responsively with the team, ensuring continuity of administrative tasks in case of absence
- You ensure the smooth flow of documents between the various concerned services, sectors, and departments
- You contribute to the dynamics of the secretaries' pool, promoting versatility and mutual support among colleagues
- You welcome, inform, and guide patients, their relatives, visitors, as well as internal collaborators, with professionalism and kindness
- You guarantee quality reception, demonstrating active listening, availability, and adapting your approach to different situations and people encountered
- You respond clearly and with reasoned arguments, strictly respecting the confidentiality rules in force.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or equivalent training - ideally complemented by a medical secretary diploma
- You have at least three years of experience in a similar position
- You have perfect command of French, both spoken and written, and demonstrate speed in writing (10-finger typing)
- You show versatility and a strong team spirit of mutual support
- You know how to prioritize your tasks effectively and work autonomously
- You possess excellent organizational skills, essential for this position
- You have good interpersonal skills, with an ability to adapt your communication to each interlocutor
- You demonstrate empathy, active listening, and availability, especially towards patients and their relatives.
- You master common office tools (Microsoft Office suite), and knowledge of tools specific to our institution is an asset.
