Coordination Case Management 100%, temporary in the Winterthur area (m/f/d)
Since March 2024, Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centers at various locations in the canton of Zurich on behalf of the canton. From January 1, 2026, and on a temporary basis, we will open a transit center in the Winterthur area. The center offers space for up to 100 asylum seekers. It is located in an underground facility that meets current requirements for safety, infrastructure, and protection. The premises are functional and purposefully designed to create a pleasant and structured environment for the residents.
The Social Work/Case Management department is responsible for case management of persons in asylum care and public social assistance. To support case management, we are looking for a committed person for the coordination of case management.
Your tasks
- Support social workers in case management
- Administrative tasks on behalf of social workers
- Advice and support for residents in social, linguistic, and professional integration matters
- Preparation of potential assessments
- Registration for German courses according to cantonal integration guidelines (e.g., IAZH or comparable programs)
- Registration and deregistration of school-age children with the responsible schools and communication with the schools
- Participation in the payment of support benefits
- Collaboration with relevant partners such as schools, language schools, volunteers, holiday and leisure programs, and other specialist agencies
- Maintenance and documentation of client data in specialist systems (Tutoris)
- Active participation in team meetings, intervisions, and supervisions
Our requirements
- Completed 3-year vocational training in administration or social sector
- Several years of professional experience in asylum, social assistance, or migration sector
- Knowledge of the service landscape in the canton of Zurich in the field of integration (IAZH)
- Further training in case management and/or integration topics is an advantage
- Very good oral and written German skills; additional language skills are an advantage, knowledge of a national language is desirable.
- Very good IT user skills (MS Office); ideally experience with the case management software Tutoris
- Strong communication skills as well as a structured and solution-oriented working style
- Empathetic, motivating, and interculturally competent personality
- High team spirit and negotiation skills
