About the job
You investigate suspicions of violations of financial market law committed by authorized financial institutions, with investigative talent and a strong ability to assert yourself.
Main tasks
- Conducting, independently, preliminary enforcement investigations against financial institutions authorized by FINMA as well as against individuals in case of suspected violations of financial market law
- Analyzing established facts from the perspective of financial market law and contributing to the development of financial market law practice
- Close collaboration with the departments responsible for FINMA's supervision and authorization activities, especially in the context of early intervention
- Drafting and presenting requests to open enforcement proceedings to the responsible internal committees
- Contact with Swiss and foreign authorities (in particular Swiss criminal authorities and foreign financial market supervisory authorities)
Required profile
- Master's degree in law from a Swiss university and bar admission; postgraduate training (e.g., CAS in compliance, financial markets or investigations, LL.M.) is an advantage
- At least three years of professional experience in a law firm, an audit company, a financial institution, or an authority
- Knowledge in the field of financial market law, especially regarding money laundering, is an advantage
- Very good writing and speaking skills in French (C2) and very good knowledge of German and English. Knowledge of Italian is desirable but not mandatory
