The Public Prosecutor's Office II of the Canton of Zurich conducts proceedings in the areas of priority crime, cybercrime, and special investigations.
As of July 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are seeking your support in Department B as Head of Department due to the retirement of the previous position holder.
Job Description
You will lead Department B of the Public Prosecutor's Office II of the Canton of Zurich, which is primarily responsible for complex criminal proceedings against adults in the context of narcotics and organized crime and human trafficking. You will manage the department with 15 employees (public prosecutors with their secretariats as well as an assistant public prosecutor) both professionally and personally. You ensure a balanced caseload and regular information exchange within the department as well as with interface partners. You are also motivated by active participation in projects and working groups. In your role as a public prosecutor, you will conduct your own criminal investigations in the area of the aforementioned offenses and represent your cases before the cantonal courts. A competent secretariat will support you.
Requirements
For the role as Head of Department, you bring several years of experience in leading complex criminal investigations as well as practical court experience. You are characterized by analytical, networked thinking as well as a structured, goal-oriented approach. Formally, you are eligible for election as a public prosecutor according to the Zurich Court Organization Act. You maintain a professional, constructive relationship with employees and interface partners and combine diplomatic skill with assertiveness to achieve your goals. As a team-oriented personality, you enjoy leadership and gladly take on responsibility.
