Your tasks
- You represent the interests and strategy of WWF Switzerland in the region and align regional work with the national strategy.
- You are responsible for implementing WWF Switzerland's programs and projects in the canton, in collaboration with the WWF Upper Valais committee and the chargé·e d’affaires of Lower Valais.
- You support the volunteer committee and contribute to the development of local environmental policy, ensure compliance with environmental legislation, and maintain active relationships with cantonal authorities, partners, and other organizations.
- You collaborate constructively within the section and with the regional teams in Lausanne and Bern.
Your profile
- You hold a university degree, ETH or higher education in natural or environmental sciences or have equivalent professional experience
- You have expertise in project management, public relations, and political lobbying
- You have several years of experience in the field of environment, with in-depth knowledge in areas such as aquatic ecology, terrestrial biodiversity, climate, and/or energy
- You are familiar with the geographical specifics and environmental issues of the canton of Valais, particularly the Upper Valais region, as well as its political structures and processes
- You have very good knowledge of German and French - ideally at C1 level
- The workplace is, depending on the place of residence, Lausanne, Bern, or Sion – with regular travel between these locations
