With nearly 1,500 employees, the Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics is a medical center focused on the elderly and is composed of 6 services spread over 5 sites: Trois-Chêne, Loëx, Bellerive, Beau-Séjour, and Joli-Mont. It manages acute situations, notably through the emergency services of the Trois-Chêne hospital, age-related specific problems, medical rehabilitation, and palliative care.
The Memory Center addresses the multiple challenges posed by memory disorders. It offers diagnosis based on state-of-the-art techniques, multidisciplinary care, and individualized therapies. Patients can participate in research projects and test new medications. A psycho-educational approach helps them better manage their illness and provides psychological support to their relatives.
Job Description
Your role is to conduct cognitive assessments to identify difficulties specifically related to language, speech, or communication. Depending on the needs of the patients, you propose interventions to maintain and adapt communication abilities.
You perform outpatient assessments for patients with neurodegenerative diseases to characterize preserved and impaired language functions.
You implement a personalized therapeutic program and provide advice to patients and their relatives.
You participate in interdisciplinary exchanges with other therapists and medical staff.
Qualifications
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master’s degree in speech therapy or an equivalent qualification.
You have proven experience in speech therapy with various patient populations, including neurological and geriatric patients.
You are able to integrate into a multidisciplinary team and work autonomously and independently. You have good organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities.
You are a rigorous, methodical person with strong synthesis skills.
