To complement the research activities in the group of Prof. Liliane Michalik at the CIG (Center for Integrative Genomics) of the University of Lausanne, we are looking for a passionate and creative postdoctoral candidate to investigate the mechanisms of tissue regeneration and wound healing.

Your responsibilities
The successful applicant will conduct experimental research on tissue regeneration and cellular reprogramming, function of non-coding regulatory RNAs, and gene expression regulation in response to mechanical injuries. Our projects cover multidisciplinary approaches, including molecular and cellular biology, genomics, animal models, and bioinformatics techniques.The successful applicant will also be involved in teaching (practical teaching for BSc students) and in supervision of MSc students.
Your qualifications
PhD or MD-PhD degree in life sciences. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and team player, will have the ability to work independently with strong work ethic and critical thinking, will have excellent communication and organization skills. She/he will be fluent in English and will have established expertise in cellular and molecular biology, and computational biology. Experience in working with zebrafish is desirable, but not essential.

The Michalik’s lab is hosted at the Center for Integrative Genomics (CIG) at the University of Lausanne (UNIL), a well-funded institute with a focus on functional genomics and equipped with modern core facilities (see www.unil.ch/cig ) . It is embedded in the broader Lausanne research environment that includes two universities (UNIL, EPFL), the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, Ludwig Center for Cancer Research, university hospital, and a cluster of biotech companies flourishing in the larger lake Geneva area. Lab members benefit from networking and training opportunities.
The project will be supported by existing expertise in the lab, by several core facilities of the Center for Integrative Genomics ( http://www.unil.ch/cig/home/menuinst/research.html) and by collaborations with the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics.
