The CHUV is looking for a social worker in a medicalized environment at a 90% rate for December 1, 2025, to replace a team member on maternity leave in the medicine surgery sector.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, research, and training.
Attached to the Care Directorate, the CHUV Somatic Social Service is available to patients or their relatives to discreetly help resolve administrative, financial, legal, family, or psychosocial issues related to hospitalization or outpatient follow-up.
Mission
- You provide psychosocial support as well as administrative, logistical, financial, or legal assistance to the patients of the university neurorehabilitation service (hospitalization and outpatient)
- You collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that defines the therapeutic project with the patient
- You inform, advise, guide, and support patients and their relatives for all necessary procedures following accidents, illness, disability, or loss of income
- You coordinate with various services and associations in the Vaud and Romandy social and health network.
Profile
- You hold a diploma as a social worker HES or ESTS, or a Bachelor in social sciences
- You have at least two years of professional experience in the field
- You have a strong interest in health-related issues
- You master Swiss social insurances and know the Vaud social institutions as well as administrative and legal structures
- You have great adaptability and know how to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, in a network, and to be in contact with people particularly vulnerable due to illness and/or accident autonomously
- You possess excellent writing skills and are comfortable with computer tools (MS Office).
- You have good knowledge of English and Spanish, an asset.
📌 Salary class: level 8 to 9, depending on your profile
