As a Specialist Application Support, you play an important role in the introduction and operation of various specialist applications in our institutions of correctional services and reintegration (JuWe). The main workplace for this position is in Altstetten, with regular assignments on site in our 12 institutions in the canton of Zurich.
What to expect
You ensure the smooth operation of our specialist applications, including:
- Electronic case and file management (GINA)
- Electronic medical record (SiMed)
- Smart Prisons (SMAZH)
- Security support system (SiSu)
You will work closely with the institution staff on site, the specialist application managers, and the technical application managers. In addition, you are part of an organization that takes social responsibility.

About us
Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 staff with diverse professional profiles. We are responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For JuWe employees, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
Your area of responsibility
- You take over first-level support for all specialist applications, analyze malfunctions and user inquiries, and resolve them independently or coordinate further processing with the respective specialist application managers, specialist users, and internal IT departments
- You are the contact person for specialist users and act as a link between them, the specialist application managers, and internal IT departments. You support specialist users with questions and train them in advanced functions of the specialist applications
- You take an active role in knowledge transfer. You create instructions, training materials, and develop, plan, and conduct training sessions in coordination with the specialist application manager
- You support the professional development of the specialist applications, receive change requests from end users, accompany the implementation of new functionalities, test them, and assist in adapting operational processes
- You are responsible on site for device management, commission devices, coordinate and arrange repairs of defective devices, and maintain the device inventory
The challenge suits you if you
- Have completed training in IT or commercial fields with a strong IT affinity
- Have experience in application support or a comparable function
- Have experience with ticket systems (ServiceNow)
- Are reliable, curious, and proactive, open to people, willing to get involved, and work solution-oriented and independently in a team
- Have a clean record (no entries in the criminal or debt register)
- Have very good German skills (C1)
- Are willing to travel and ready to work alternately in the institutions you support in the canton of Zurich (driver's license category B is an advantage but not mandatory)
