Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for the maintenance and operational readiness of the vehicles, equipment, systems, and materials of the Adliswil Fire Department. You ensure that all legally required maintenance and inspection work is carried out professionally and documented carefully. The operational safety of all operational resources is within your area of responsibility. In addition, you are responsible for the care and management of the pool vehicles of the city administration. In close collaboration with the Zurich Building Insurance (GVZ), you ensure the supply of small materials and work together with the entire fire department corps to restore and ensure the operational readiness of the materials after drills and operations. You continuously document changes in the inventory in the designated IT applications. Furthermore, you partially take over the maintenance of the fire department depot in consultation with the Real Estate Department. In these tasks, you work closely with the staff member and represent them in their absence.
What We Expect from You
You have completed training as a car/machine mechanic or an equivalent qualification at the appropriate educational level, supplemented by a solid subject-related further education of at least four semesters and/or relevant professional experience. Additional training as a material manager or machinist is an advantage. You also bring in-depth knowledge of the fire department's operational resources. You possess a driver's license of category C1-118 or C and are willing to participate in further training in the handling, maintenance, and servicing of fire department materials. For the completion of administrative tasks, you are familiar with the IT environment of a public administration or are able to quickly acquire this knowledge. You show initiative, recognize and analyze complex problems, and can propose suitable solutions. A high quality awareness as well as the ability to act and decide independently within your area of competence characterize you. Ideally, you live in the Adliswil region or are willing to relocate accordingly. Admission to the Adliswil Fire Department (militia organization) is expected or will occur upon taking up the position.
