Shift Supervisor Preliminary Detention 80 - 100%At Zurich West Prison (GZW), we serve the public 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Our tasks and challenges are diverse, but we master them together as a team.
Immediately or by arrangement, we are looking for a committed, dynamic, and assertive personality for Zurich West Prison.
This is your field of work in Preliminary Detention
In Preliminary Detention, incarcerated persons are accompanied during the difficult initial phase after arrest. Your daily routine is characterized by supervisory tasks, where you always keep security-relevant aspects in mind.
We work in a regulated shift system, which means you will work weekends, nights, and special shifts. You are willing to contribute to quality assurance and the further development of operations.
Your area of responsibility
- Leadership and guidance in crisis situations
- Ensuring the operational daily business
- Professional-operational guidance of staff
- Training and coaching employees in the area of personal safety
- Ensuring information transfer between internal interfaces
- Quality assurance and process optimization
What you bring
- You have a completed Swiss Federal Certificate of Competence, a (specialized) Matura, or an equivalent qualification
- Ideally, you have completed or started basic training as a specialist in correctional services with a Swiss federal specialist certificate
- Initial experience in operational leadership as well as in training is an advantage
- You have very good German skills and at least one other language and are proficient in IT applications
- Your strengths such as resilience, assertiveness, conflict management skills, and confident appearance distinguish you
- You are at least 25 years old and have an impeccable reputation with no entries in the criminal and debt registers
