The legal service of the Construction and Environment Department, organizationally integrated into the Office for the Environment, supports the Offices for Environment, Water and Energy, and Civil Engineering in legally compliant enforcement. In addition to environmental and water protection law, the legal service deals with water use and hydraulic engineering law, road law, as well as electricity supply and energy law.
We are looking for a
Lawyer (m/f/d)
Starting November 1, 2025, or by agreement
Workload: 80%
Workplace: St. Gallen
What to expect
- Processing hydraulic engineering planning procedures including assessment of objections raised and approval of water projects
- Handling legal questions in the context of preliminary examination and approval of municipal road plans
- Participation in legal appeal procedures in the areas of hydraulic engineering and road law
- Review of legal issues of the Civil Engineering Office in civil and public law
- Participation in consultations on legislative proposals from the federal government and canton
- Advising municipalities and private individuals in road law and hydraulic engineering law including water protection law
- Drafting statements for the public prosecutor's office in environmental criminal proceedings (water protection and environmental law)
