Research officers for the Community Psychiatry Service
The Community Psychiatry Service of the Department of Psychiatry (DP) at CHUV is recruiting two research officers at a work rate between 60% and 80%, to join its Research Unit. The positions are fixed-term for two years, with the possibility of renewal. The starting date is scheduled for January 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Department of Psychiatry includes ten services covering all ages and groups the psychiatric sectors Center, West, and North of the canton. Its mission is to ensure comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for people suffering from mental disorders, offering acute care, outpatient follow-ups, and interventions in the living environment.
The Community Psychiatry Service (PCO) provides psychiatric care to adults aged 18 to 65 living in the Lausanne metropolitan area. Its goal is to facilitate the integration and maintenance in the community of people suffering from mental disorders, taking into account social, relational, and environmental dimensions. Its recovery-centered approach is based on multidisciplinary collaboration, mobile and outpatient interventions, and day activities.
The PCO Research Unit studies factors promoting recovery, focusing on the first-person perspective and patients' lived experience. It is interdisciplinary, integrates expert patients at all project stages, and collaborates with national and international partners (La Source Health School, UNIL, IUFRS, European and Canadian teams). It aims to produce evidence-based knowledge, modernize care, and provide continuous research training.
Mission
- You contribute to the design and writing of research projects
- You participate in the implementation of projects, data collection, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
- You ensure monitoring activities and oversee methodological quality and compliance with research processes
- You take part in discussing results and writing reports, publications, and scientific communications
- You support the Service's research activities and contribute to the training of involved collaborators and students.
Profile
- You hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social sciences, or humanities
- You have a strong interest in clinical research and mixed methods approaches (quantitative and qualitative)
- You appreciate collaborative work within multidisciplinary teams
- You are autonomous, rigorous, and creative, with analytical skills and good listening ability
- You communicate easily in writing and orally, in French and English (an asset).
