Technical Management 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of seven main departments of JuWe. With 399 places, JVA Pöschwies is the largest closed correctional facility in Switzerland for male offenders. It fulfills a central state function and, according to legal mandate, takes into account the resocialization of prisoners and the protection of the public.
In the area of Economy & Work, we are looking for an extremely flexible, resilient, and eager-to-learn personality with high social competence to start immediately or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- Responsibility for the technical area with five employees as well as budgeting and cost control
- Ensuring technical safety in cooperation with construction coordination, maintenance & technology
- Care, maintenance, and repair of facilities within the area of responsibility as well as coordination of repairs, projects, and work orders
- Organization of periodic installation inspections and small equipment tests
- First point of contact for external companies and their concerns
- Planning and coordination of on-call deployments of the team as well as participation in operational daily business
- Control, compliance, and enforcement of legal and operational regulations
- Responsibility for occupational safety as well as implementation and monitoring of the corresponding guidelines and measures
Your profile
- You have completed training as an electrician and have several years of professional experience in the maintenance and repair of technical systems
- You also bring initial leadership experience and feel comfortable in a responsible role
- You are proficient in the MS Office suite and communicate fluently in German, both spoken and written; additional language skills are an advantage
- You are mentally and physically resilient and can reconcile on-call duty well with your personal commitments
- A clean record (no relevant entries in the criminal or debt register) and a minimum age of 30 complete your profile
