About Us
The Institute of Anesthesia, Emergency and Intensive Care Medicine employs a chief physician, two senior physicians, eleven specialists, and two assistant physicians. We offer both acute postoperative pain therapy as well as outpatient and interventional pain consultations. In addition to regular consultations, we perform around 400 interventions annually (X-ray and ultrasound-guided), supplemented by medication infusions, TENS instructions, Qutenza applications, and acupuncture treatments. Our anesthesiological range of services includes perioperative care of patients of all ASA risk classes from various surgical disciplines, including general surgery including bariatric procedures, orthopedic-traumatological surgery with a focus on the spine, gynecology and obstetrics, urology, ENT, etc. In total, we perform about 5,000 anesthesias annually, with the proportion of regional anesthesias exceeding 30%. The interdisciplinary intensive care unit is anesthesiologically managed and has six beds, including two ventilator places. Furthermore, the institute operates its own emergency physician system.
