SIX operates Swiss Interbank Clearing (SIC), the foundational payment system of Switzerland, on behalf of and under the supervision of the Swiss National Bank. Through SIC, financial institutions process customer and interbank <strong>account‑to‑account payments</strong>, <strong>instant payments</strong>, and <strong>upstream and downstream processes such as billing and fraud prevention</strong> in Swiss francs efficiently, securely, and in real time - in Switzerland, across Europe, and worldwide.
