About the job
What you will do here
- Teach and guide bachelor and possibly master students in Sound Arts towards their diploma
- Convey sound in its theoretical, performative, technological, social, political, cultural-historical, and transdisciplinary dimensions
- Form networks within the team and with external partners and jointly further develop the Sound Arts program and research
- If suitable, additionally develop and lead your own research projects that feed back into teaching
- The position can be split between two people (30-60%). When taking on a Tenure Track professorship: research experience in the disciplines mentioned above and knowledge of the Swiss research and education landscape
What you ideally bring with you
- University degree in Sound Arts, Composition, Music Technology, or a comparable discipline and good knowledge of the relevant software and hardware environment
- Own artistic practice, international visibility, publication activity in the field of Sound Arts
- Teaching experience in higher education in German, English, and/or French, mastery of the current diversity of pedagogical methods
- Possibly research experience in the disciplines mentioned above and knowledge of the Swiss research and education landscape
- Willingness to teach weekly during the semester in Bern
The interviews and trial lessons will take place on March 24 and 25, 2026, as well as the 2nd round on April 1, 2026
