Head of the Office for the Execution of Sentences
Department of Justice, Security and Health | 80 - 100% | Chur
The Department of Justice, Security and Health fulfills diverse tasks for the population of Graubünden and includes eight offices as well as the departmental secretariat. One of these offices is the Office for the Execution of Sentences (AJV). The AJV is responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as well as the implementation of various types of detention. In Graubünden, the execution of sentences and measures is regulated as a unified subject area and holistic task, in which various professional groups work interdisciplinarily with offenders to prevent further delinquency.
Due to succession planning, we are looking for a new Head of the Office for the Execution of Sentences from January 1, 2026 or by agreement.
Your area of responsibility
- Strategic and personnel management of the office
- Coordination of all overarching tasks as well as further development of the office
- Coordination and management of various projects
- Ensuring legally compliant execution of sentences
- Responsibility for the implementation of federal and cantonal legislation within the area of responsibility
- Professional training and further education of employees
- Responsibility for budget preparation and cost control
What we expect from you
- University degree (Master or higher), preferably in the legal field, as well as training in leadership or management
- Knowledge in the field of execution of sentences is an advantage
- Extensive professional experience in the execution of sentences in leadership positions or in public administration
- Experience in leading complex, multi-year projects, ideally in systematic management of change and innovation
- Strong communication skills
- Digital affinity and future-oriented thinking
- Knowledge of Italian and/or Romansh is an advantage
